Desire Obsession and Possession: The Six Daily Steps

So what is the exact pathway to transforming a desire in the mind into a living breathing physical reality? We have been discussing concepts and principles from the classic book “Think And Grow Rich” written by Napoleon Hill in 1937. In Chapter 2 on pages 17 to 18 Mr. Hill lays out six steps to follow to bridge the thought and idea of wealth into the tangible reality of wealth.

Step One is to fix in your mind an exact and specific amount of money that you want as your goal. This clarity is the opposite of vagueness and generalities. This specificity is razor sharp and crystal clear in it’s single minded focus.

Step Two is to determine what value and service you are willing to exchange in return for your goal, desire or obsession. You can lay out a detailed step by step plan of action outlining the specifics of what you will be doing to reach your objectives.

Step Three is to set a specific date as your deadline. This date will force you to focus your efforts without delay to a specific timeline and create a pressure system to squeeze your goal into a finite time space.

Step Four is to take an immediate physical or mental action to advance you towards your goal. These should be a consistent series of physical actions following the written plan detailing a direct pathway to your organized obsession and your desired goal.

Step Five is to construct a written statement of resolution or declaration officially stating your intention and it’s desired result or your current resolve to produce the physical result of your organized obssession and your organized system of consistent actions carrying you to the achievement of your desired goal.

Step Six is to verbally read your statement aloud twice daily while mentally envisioning and emotionally experiencing yourself in possession of your organized obssession and desired goal. This creates a knowing and positive expectancy of mentally, emotionally and visually owning your organized obssession and desired goal.

These are the steps outlined to turn your desire into a burning desire and then into an obssession and then a mental and visual possession and finally the physical possession of your goal. Steps one to five are pretty much one time steps. The sixth step is a daily ritual until the physical result presents itself to you.

Stoking The Flames Of A Burning Desire To Succeed

The first step toward riches according to Napoleon Hill in his classic book “Think And Grow Rich” is Desire. In Chapter 2 he says desire is the starting point of all achievement. Now desire can be just a hope and a wish sometimes. This desire has to be intense. He spoke about a man named Edwin C. Barnes who had an opportunity to carry out the one consuming obsession of his life, a burning desire to become the business associate of the great inventor Thomas Edison. He goes on to mention that Mr. Barnes succeeded because he chose a definite goal, placed all of his energy, will power, effort and everything into that goal.

He decided to make it a must and not just a ‘want’ or a ‘like’. He had to turn a desire into a burning desire and a burning desire into an obsession. What is obsession? In my opinion obsession is not a ‘want’ or a ‘like’. Obsession is a drive. It’s almost a crazed drive.

So how do you turn a goal or a desire into a must have driving obsession? Well first of all doesn’t this all sound a little scary unhinged or unbalanced? Actually you are scaring yourself with these thoughts. It’s understandable. It’s even natural to react that way. Your rational mind is trying to come up with reasons and excuses to try and talk you out of actually achieving your goal just because of the terminology or verbiage you are now using. Your rational mind is trying to be ‘realistic’.

Let’s shift gears for a moment during this inner conversation on ‘realism’. How long have you been failing, floundering and struggling? That struggle was very ‘realistic’ wasn’t it? What is the exact opposite of a crazed driven obsession? How about apathy? Indifference? How about delusion? How about mediocrity? What is the exact opposite of greatness?

Your problem may be with the image of obsession. The key is balance. A lack of balance is what you have to restrict and keep in check and not obsession. A lack of balance is a lack of self control and self discipline. Do you like TV or movies or collecting butterflies or collecting stamps? These things can become obsessions. This can be true for anything? What about sex or eating or sleeping?

A crazed driving obsession is not horrible. It’s beautiful and crucial for success achievement, peace of mind and happiness in life. It can even be life saving in a life or death situation like drowning or escaping a burning vehicle or something. Then it’s a crazed driving obsession with living. A lack of balance, self control and self discipline is what’s horrible and not a properly channeled positive obsession.

An organized obsession would really be ideal. It has all the force and energy of a crazed driving maniacal obsession but sensibly and practically contained mastered and controlled to burn and enflame your natural desire and your goal and focus. This obsession never gets out of your grasp and wanders or tries to take over in any area that you do not want it to bleed into.

Well gang these are my thoughts on the chapter on desire. There is a part two to this discussion. Mr. Hill goes into some detail on an action plan to pour your organized obsession into. I will dive into that discussion the next time we meet.

Thoughts Become Things When Backed Up By Determination

Determination is a powerful thing when it is in full swing. This discussion is the second entry in a two part review of the introductory chapter called “Thoughts Become Things” from the book “Think And Grow Rich” by Napoleon Hill which was originally released in 1937.

The book in my opinion has a general theme of repetitiveness but I don’t think that was by accident. I think he was intentionally trying to get a point across. Each chapter seems to cover multiple subjects and may barely touch on the title topic in some chapters. It revisits those topics repeatedly in other chapters.

This is not a negative criticism but just an observation from a 21st century perspective. I love the book and am currently eating the book for breakfast, lunch and dinner. It doesn’t follow a straight line. It follows a circular repetitive pattern and not a straight linear pattern. The book is designed for regular and repeated study, discussion and digestion. It’s not to be read once in just a sitting or two. It’s like a workbook or a classroom textbook.

So let’s dig in. What is determination defined? I define it as a resolve and a decision and also a refusal to fail or to give up. It’s not like obsession or any kind of flowing current of energy. It’s not an outwardly pulsating energy. Determination is an inner tensile strength. Determination is like steel. It’s not an outwardly expressed energy or power. It has a dense resiliency and is able to endure and withstand great amounts of external pressures.

Remember the movie “Raging Bull”? Robert Deniro was born for the role of boxer Jake La Motta. His famous line at the end of a bloody boxing match was “I never went down.” He lost the match but refused to fall down to the mat. That’s determination.

On page 2 Mr. Hill relates one of his many anecdotal stories. This one is about a man named Mr. Barnes. Mr. Barnes had a definite purpose and was as determined as a bulldog to stand by his definite purpose. He had resolved to let nothing stop him from his definite purpose. This was visibly apparent to others working around him.

Months went by and his determination did not wane. Opportunity decided to present itself but to do so in a sly sneaky disguise. We mentioned prosperity consciousness in our first discussion and Mr. Barnes consciousness was keen and sharp on recognizing disguised opportunities.

Mr. Hill said on page 3 that opportunity was a trickster with a habit of slipping in through the back door covered up under misfortune or some type of temporary failure or defeat. He capitalized on this opportunity and eventually went into partnership with Thomas A. Edison himself. He had thought himself into a fortune. He took an intangible impulse of thought and transmuted it into a material reward by the application of known principles.

The ‘Three Feet from Gold’ story on pages 3 and 4 explains how quitting often seems to be the easy and logical thing to do when faced with temporary defeat and failure. The gold prospectors in the story gave up just three feet away from striking a gold mine. They sold their machinery and the buyer decided to seek some expert counsel and kept mining. He struck gold with very little effort because he was so close to the gold mine.

Studying and analyzing failure can lead to knowledge, success and opportunity. There are golden lessons to be learned from failure and defeat. Page 5 and 6 tells the story of the strange powers of a child’s persistence in the face of failure. The child only wanted fifty cents and was doggedly determined to get her reward. She taught several grown men some valuable lessons that served them years later in bringing them financial rewards of their own.

He told another story on page 8 about Henry Ford and the V-8 engine. Ford’s engineers told him it was impossible to build an 8 cylinder engine. His reply was “Stay on the job until you succeed, no matter how much time is required.” It was a year later but they succeeded in making the impossible possible. They also succeeded in not allowing time to defeat them or to become their enemy.

Well these are my thoughts on the introductory chapter of Mr. Hill’s book. I do want to welcome all of your thoughts in this discussion on thoughts becoming things or the power of a ‘bulldog’ determination to “Think And Grow Rich”.

Thoughts Become Things - A “Think And Grow Rich” Discussion

The idea of thoughts becoming things is a novel and ambitious idea isn’t it? What does it mean? Is it a bunch of New Age psycho babble? Is it some wise ancient philosophy from Eastern metaphysics? Is it a fact of modern day science?

Well that’s what we are here to discuss. We are here to open up a can of worms. This is intended to be the first in a series of open and ongoing discussions of time tested or widely known success and personal development principles. We will look at some standard foundational principles in the fields of self improvement and self development.

These principles have been deemed requirements for success in major accomplishments for decades in our modern era. They have really been used and discussed for centuries by the great minds of history and by those who have followed or studied these individuals.

The idea of ‘thoughts becoming things’ is but one of many thoughts that would supposedly lead to great wealth, prosperity and abundance. This is according to the 1937 classic “Think And Grow Rich” written by Napoleon Hill. This is considered required reading for those attempting to amass large sums of wealth or for anyone looking to accomplish any major goal in any area of life.

The format, purpose and structure of these discussions will be open and flexible and available in different formats and mediums. Think of them as reviews of various works. They are sort of like a critique of that work or a personal opinion of it’s style, content, delivery or what have you.

The subject matter will cover a chapter or a topic from that work and open it up as a concept for discussion. Individuals can comment and respond respectfully on various blogs, in social networks or in forums and voice their opinions on the topic discussed.

My first impression of the entire book itself was not particularly flattering but it wasn’t a total pan of the book either. I heard about it for years but procrastinated on actually reading it. I have been reading this book for about a month or so now and it has definitely grown on me.

I downloaded it for free on the Internet but I was reading it so much during the day that I had to get a hard copy paperback edition of the book. The first chapter is entitled “Thoughts Become Things”. It introduces the feel and flavor of the rest of the book. I will split the first chapter up into two different discussions. I’ll explain my reasons why later.

How do thoughts become things? According to Mr. Hill there is a scientific process of natural laws that will allow anything you touch to transmute itself into an asset for your benefit. This could be for your financial benefit or some other type of benefit. You can follow along with me in the paperback to page 9.

Mr. Hill said on page 8 that you will observe as you think and grow rich that riches begin with a state of mind, with definiteness of purpose and with little or no hard work. He said he spent twenty five years researching this. He also said as you master the principles of this thought philosophy and follow the instructions that you will begin to grow wealthy.

He also said on page 9 that those who follow the instructions will become success conscious or develop a success consciousness. The masses who follow the status quo will remain poverty conscious and maintain a poverty consciousness.

My own definition of a success or prosperity consciousness is a conscious and a subconscious acute and sensitive awareness of prosperity in hidden forms and in open and obvious manifestations. It is also a perspective that can see and spot the open or hidden opportunities for success and prosperity when they present themselves. It is largely a reactive quality based on specific principles and concepts rather than a proactive quality. But it can be used proactively as well.

He also spoke on page 11 about how we could ‘magnetize’ our thoughts to the point that they would attract to us the forces, the people, the circumstances of life which harmonize with the nature of our dominating thoughts. He said that we could magnetize our minds with an intense burning desire for our financial goals.

This introductory chapter was predominantly about having an intense determination to achieve our goal. I will delve further into that aspect of this chapter in the second part of our discussion. I wanted to stay on the topic and concept of thoughts becoming things and offer my own thoughts on the subject as well. I want to encourage an open dialogue and an exchange of ideas on each subject of discussion.

(4) It Should Encourage A Niche Product Focus- Network marketing is a very prevalent and popular business model in this industry. A word of caution is necessary here. If the company you represent puts it’s sole focus on the business opportunity itself rather than a niche product of some type you can eventually run into a problem.

The modern network marketing industry dates back roughly to the 1950’s. The companies that are still standing and are billion dollar companies being traded in the stock market all have a niche product focus. Even if they heavily promote mass recruiting, it’s their paying niche customers that stay with them for several years or even decades.

(5) It Should Encourage Individual and Distinct Branding, Growth and Leadership- You have to grow up and fly out of the nest at some point. A brand new business would benefit greatly from a co-operative marketing campaign and it’s community. An established and experienced marketer can benefit as well from any aggressive marketing campaigns but each individual as they branch out further into specific niche products they need to distinguish themselves from others in their industry. They also need to present credibility and expertise for the trust and benefit of their customers. Branding and leadership will reward them individually and their niche customers as well.

Can Mastermind Groups Accomplish More Than A Single Individual?

I don’t know but maybe you can tell me. If there are a group of individuals with a single focus and excellent coaching, mentoring and leadership that take consistent group action to achieve a single goal, do they hold more power than a single individual? Well let’s build on that scenario. What if many of the group members are inexperienced in the field that the group is focused on and lack the skills, experience or maybe just the confidence to achieve the goal on their own?

Skeptical individuals may beg to differ and say that the real success individuals have always been self starters. This is very true. No individual should wait on another person to motivate them to take the action steps needed to be successful. History proves that these people are looking for and making excuses. Excuses don’t bring success. Determined and consistent action following a proven plan is what works.

Let’s examine this further. History also shows that coaching and mentoring were always critical to the successes of high achievers. They sometimes had talent and other times just sheer drive and determination. But they never made huge or even modest successes on their own. People help people directly and indirectly. The skills, talents, experiences, assets and resources that you may not have can be applied by somebody somewhere who does have them.

You ever heard people say “Nobody gave me nothing. I had to fight and scratch for what I have.” I’m not here to argue with them. I haven’t lived their lives. People have fought and struggled to survive or prosper for centuries. But let’s examine that sentiment further.

Gratitude takes the opposite approach to that viewpoint. Gratitude can begin with the simplest and most overlooked things. Gratitude is expressed for things that we receive. Someone had to give us something. So now we are back to where we started. Mastermind groups give us some wonderful advantages if we are willing to contribute to the success of the group we belong to. Does this all make sense now?

So the question we began with was who can accomplish more? The answer may seem obvious to some but we are really just examining a core principle and a concept here. By considering the benefits and even criticisms of the concept we can then arrive at our own conclusions. 7 Steps To Mentally Programming Success

Everybody in life wants to be successful. Humans around the globe down through the centuries have wanted success and happiness in life. This could be in the area of finances, spirituality, health, relationships or other types of achievements.

Since this has been a universal endeavour for humans since the dawn of creation, there haven’t been very many brand new scientific or technological breakthroughs in the area of human achievement. But knowledge, wisdom and inspiration have always been precious commodities. When something of value has been delivered to us in a certain way at a certain time it may affect us in a way that it didn’t affect us say, oh, ten years ago.

The Bible is an ancient book but reading it today may not necessarily enlighten us with a brand new “ah-ha” moment. But reading a certain passage can strengthen us today just as powerfully as it may have done years ago. The same passage could strengthen us tomorrow with an even stronger effect.

What follows is a short list of seven steps to mentally program our minds to achieve and attract success. There is much more science and data available on the subject but these are some of the basic fundamentals. These would be the beginnings of the journey to success. These steps are in no particular order.

1: A Successfully Proven Plan- History is filled with pioneers who blaze trails and paths in unknown territories. It’s much easier to follow someone’s successful example than to find our own way through trial and error. Children for example can learn how hot a stove is from their parents or they can learn through their own trial and discovery. Our own success will be much easier if we were to follow a proven path based on existing evidence.

2: A Successful Coach or Mentor- None of us can succeed in major undertakings alone. Someone had to at least show us some type of model of success. People who have proven to be successful and who know how to communicate with us can teach us and inspire us to succeed in our own paths.

3: Visualization- Holding a clear, vivid and preferably emotionally intense vision of our goal completed and accomplished in our minds is another success tool that has been used since ancient times. This activity is not to be confused with mere daydreaming or fantasizing. Think of it more as a highly disciplined form of meditation and concentration rather than some school girl dreaming about the latest teen idol. It’s a mental exercise and an emotional rehearsal in preparation for an upcoming event. That upcoming event is your success.

4: Words, Language and Vocabulary- The words, statements or ideas you speak to yourself and to others are subconscious mirrors that reflect your inner level of certainty and confidence. If that certainty isn’t there yet then you can repeat these words or increase the emotional intensity of their delivery and thus their impact on you. They are called affirmations because they affirm, re-affirm or confirm that a particular state or activity is being created, does exist or is taking place.

5: Regularly Feeding Off Of Success Re-inforcing Materials- Books, tapes, seminars and videos all convey thought energy. If we are open to the ideas they put forth then this can serve to inspire and encourage us. These morsels of thought, emotion and ideas are living, breathing and growing bits of energy that can invigorate us. Although the emotional benefit is momentary and only has a temporary effect on us that doesn’t diminish it’s role in the success model. We have to feed off of or digest this energy on a daily and sometimes an hourly basis to help sustain the momentum of our efforts.

6: Acting As If- Your behavior and actions communicate to your subconscious mind how confident and how serious you are about your success. It shows that you are physically preparing for success to arrive. You can role play in preparation for your success. You can also physically move closer towards your goal as it moves itself closer to you. Your actions will have to be consistent in order to make real progress. This may sound very simple and it is simple to understand. Sometimes it may not be as easy to do on a consistent basis in everyday life even if it is a simple concept to understand. Developing successful habits, rituals and routines are crucial elements of the success model.

7: Associate and Soar With Other Flying Eagles- Interacting with a supportive group of success minded peers can have a powerful effect on you. This group won’t discourage you with dream killing urgings and comments that can drain your energy. They can also give you constructive criticism and correction without derailing your aspirations.

As you walk the path to success on a daily and consistent basis you can thoroughly practice and research the concept of success. Begin treating it like a craft or a skill. Regard your success the same way a champion athlete or a world class performer or artist would regard their professions.

I don't want to jump on the band wagon of the get rich quick gurus here. I used the word "money". I didn't use the word "rich". The answer to the question posed above is...yes. But how can you do that? Pull some type of scam or bribery or learn some slick trickery? No it is legit but calm down. It won't make you rich. It will put about $30 to $70 in your pocket in a minimum of two hours. It could take as long as a few days but that depends on how you work the system.

I'm talking about Incentivized Freebie Websites. They are referred to in the industry as IFW's or also just "freebie sites". Once you really learn the ins and outs of working the system you could make anywhere from a few hundred per month up to around 2 or 3 grand per month. Some pros make up to 5 grand per month. After decades of opportunity seeking I try to avoid hype as much as I possibly can. That's why I am covering all spectrums of the freebie rainbow.

Most of these sites give away electronics such as iPods and digital products (cameras, game systems, PC's, TVs, etc.) but other things too - designer handbags and clothing accessories for women, golf clubs and accessories for men, gift cards, and best of all, cash.

Most sites work like this: You sign up at a freebie site and fill out a "sponsor offer".This is some form of a trial or other offer from a large company such as AOL, Blockbuster, Columbia House, etc. Some offers are free, with others you have to pay a small shipping and handling or other fee. To get the freebie you must refer a number of people to the site who do the same thing. Once you have the required number of referrals you will receive their free gift.

This works because the website running the promotion is paid a commission each time they generate a lead for an advertiser. They might earn $50 each time they refer a new person to AOL even though the user only signed up for a free trial and didn't pay anything at all.

The freebie industry has grown and matured somewhat in this short time period but is still in it's infancy and has gone through it's own growing pains. The Important Concept of "Greens"

In a nutshell, when a person completes a sponsor offer, that is a "green". The reason it's called this is because almost all IFWs color-code a user's status. When a person first signs up, their status is yellow indicating a "pending" status. They have signed up for the site, but haven't completed the requirements (completing an offer). Once a person completes a sponsor offer and gets credit for doing so, their status will change to green. It's appropriate, because money is made when this happens.

Method 2: Get Paid Cash Directly From the IFWs

Whereas the first method dealt with earning small amounts of money over and over, this method will teach you how to earn larger amounts in the $100 to $1000 range.While there is more work involved, if you keep track of the time you spend using this method you'll find that once again you can easily earn money at the rate of at least $50 per hour of "work" you do. This method involves more effort, but the rewards justify the extra work and once you get the hang of it it's actually pretty easy.

Many people actually prefer this method because once you really streamline your efforts you can actually make more per hour of "work". There is nothing stopping you from doing this as many times as you want. If you repeated this process just once a week and made an average of $350 each time, that's a cool $1,400 per month. For most people that will have a serious positive effect on their finances!

Why This Method Works - And Has To Work Every Single Time

Well there's not a whole lot to say here - this method works because we are simply taking advantage of the IFWs and their big, deep-pocket advertisers, by approaching their offers with a systematic and methodical gameplan. It's not rocket science. Their business models are dependent on "average Joes". And suffice it to say that they make A LOT of money, otherwise IFWs wouldn't be multiplying and growing like crazy. They know their numbers, and they know that overall they will turn a profit no matter what. Unlike 99.9% of consumers who participate in their promotions, we are simply taking it to another level and earning consistent money from their offers by doing something that your average web surfer just can't do.

Method 3: Get Free Products to Keep or Sell on eBay

This third method is identical to the previous method except that instead of a cash "gift" you will be receiving a free product of your choosing - either to keep or sell for cash.

Why choose to receive a free product when you could simply choose cash instead? There are actually a few situations that can make this option more attractive and profitable. Sometimes the "payout per green" is even more favorable when you choose a free product over cash. For example, a Sony Vaio laptop with a retail price of $1800 might only require 15 greens which works out to a whopping $120 per green. If you needed a new laptop anyway, you'd be much better off taking advantage of that offer versus doing a cash gift offer that might pay only $1200 for 15 greens.The other reason you might use this method is simply to increase your opportunities to make more money. Some IFWs do not always offer cash gift options.

Selling on Ebay

Selling brand new, name brand, and in demand electronics on Ebay is extremely easy. Electronics like digital cameras, gaming consoles, laptops, desktop PCs, iPods, flatscreen TVs, etc. are some of the easiest things to sell on Ebay. Always mention in your ads that you received the product you're selling for free! Many people will be extremely interested to know how you got it for free, and the end result is that you can refer them to IFWs and get even more greens.

Definitely setup your "About Me" page as an Ebay seller so people can learn more about you, and more importantly, learn more about how you are getting these products for free. Tell them about IFWs and include your referral links.

7 Quick Steps To Explode Your Business With Twitter

Twitter is the hottest phenomenon right now in Web 2.0 and on the Internet in general right now. If you are unfamiliar with this service it is merely an online communication tool similar to text messaging on cell phones. It caught on like wildfire and has exploded into pop culture from Wall Street to Main Street and was even instrumental in the 2008 presidential election.

So how can you use this resource to explode your business? This quick discussion will focus primarily on affiliate marketing, network marketing and Internet marketing.

Step One is to set up your website or landing page that all your Twitter visitors will be funneled to. This is important because you want to provide value to your visitors and make their visit worthwhile. You can have a free course, a free report, a free evaluation, some samples of your work, some great articles, some great information or something that will grab their attention.

Step Two is to find the Twitter profiles of the top people and leaders in your industry. These people will usually have thousands of followers. When you follow them a certain percentage of these people will follow you back. You can get several hundred followers immediately after doing this or at least within 24 to 48 hours after following a respected leader in your chosen niche or industry.

Step Three is to grow your list. This will continue upon your initial quick burst of followers. You just repeat this process to grow your list. Market and promote your Twitter profile in your signature file or resource box all over the Internet. A good place to do this is on forums. You can also put your Twitter link in your resource box on articles. You can also put your link on your blogs and websites.

Step Four is to clean out your list of followers. Be aware that Twitter puts a cap on how large you can grow your list. The limit is 2000 followers. Give the people you are following about two weeks or so to follow you back. If they don’t return the favor within that time you can’t waste your follow space on inactive or non-responsive followers. Just unfollow them and repeat the process with more Twitterers in your targeted niche.

Step Five is to drive traffic to your website by interacting with other Twitterers. Don’t say something like “Hey come to my website and buy stuff!”. This process is methodical but simple. Just tweet about what you are working on throughout your day. Alternate that with social tweeting about your family, pets, hobbies, funny stories ,etc. Alternate also with replies to specific individuals about their tweets and comments about non-business topics and business related topics. This will show you as a real person and build relationships with prospects and future clients and customers.

Step 6 is not to get banned from Twitter. Don’t spam people your sales link in private messages. Don’t spam your sales link or affiliate links in your tweets. Don’t mislead or trick people into clicking sale links.

Step 7 is to rinse and repeat this process. Get a schedule for your tweets. Stick to this schedule for your business and information tweets. A schedule is good but not necessary for your social and non-business tweets as well. This helps to build up relationships with your tweeters and presents you as a likeable and respected person as well as an expert and a professional in your field and industry.

Hey what's up guys? It's Kev back on Monday for some inspirational self development to help us all build, rebuild or maintain The Winner's Mentality.

I just heard a very inspiring podcast today over at Chuck Bartok's Focus Society on Talk Shoe that you may want to check out. You can go here to listen. I do want to offer a few thoughts on their consideration and discussion of Chapter 4 of the book "The Miracle Of Right Thought" by Orison Swett Marden back in 1908.

The principles I will touch on are faith, persistence and action. The author Mr. Marden used the example of a ship on the ocean in a storm or dark dense fog. Faith is like the compass in dark or foggy seas. As long as the crew or captain have their compass they can use that to guide them as they go through the sea toward their destination. The storm waves may bash and crash against the ship but if they maintain laser focus on that compass they will go straight to their destination.

I am not a sailor so I haven't been on the high seas sailing in storms. The author said he had personal experience on stormy seas. I kinda pictured the stormy ship scene in the film "Forrest Gump". I'm a movie fan and some of you may remember that scene from the film. Faith is the compass on stormy seas. It's scary and dangerous but you have to keep your hands firm on the tiller during this type of weather.

You sailors may know what a tiller is. I guess it's the wheel. At any rate the scene he described and the analogy he used were inspiring to me. Chuck then asked "When is the best time to act?" The answer is now. But you want to act quickly and decisively without being rash and impetuous. Do you have a successfully proven plan, a strategy as some type of foundation? You need the step by step plan and more importantly time lines and deadlines on when step 1 begins, step 2 and so on.

What if your plan doesn't work or you run into some problems and difficulties. If the plan has been proven you just keep following the steps. You just stop, focus and look at the actions you did or did not take and see where the holes, flaws and misjudgements and miscalculations were. You then make the proper corrections and adjustments and begin again.

It may sound a little to simplistic to some. Think about it. Success has always been simple. It just hasn't always been easy. There is a difference. Chuck said you will have one of two outcomes. You can succeed quickly and greatly or you can succeed as you correct, fine tune and adjust any imperfect and raggedy mistakes and errors. This means that failure is not an option. It sounds like a cliche but this just begins to describe the mindset of faith, a plan of action and persistence.

There were more things that they talked about but these were a few of the kernels and some of my reflective thoughts on the principles and concepts they discussed.

Back From Miami!

Hey what's up peeps. It's Kev The Cash Flow DJ here in Arkansas back from Miami. It was a blast down there guys. Wow! Well anyway let's get down to business.

These trips are business trips of course. I did do some networking with some folks. Hey I want to give a shout out to DJ Envy, Joseph Odiwo at Camelot Inn and Nelson at Richards Computers down there. Hey it was great to meet you guys. I look forward to working with each of you in the very near future.

I am looking forward to another business trip to Detroit on Memorial Day for the annual DEMF or Detroit Electronic Music Festival and to my hometown Chicago for the annual Chosen Few Picnic in July.

The 90 Day Challenge Is On!

This is the DK 90 Day Challenge and today is Saturday October 4, 2008 at 2:20pm CST. I began my challenge on Wednesday Septenber 17, 2008 and it has been quite a rollercoaster. I have been on Dennis’ list for some time now and he always sends out quality info, news and updates. He is one of the few that I will open everything he sends me. He doesn’t bombard me with daily emails either.

I have a lot to say but due to time constraints and other issues I will speak on all of that one bit at a time. Let’s just get right to the chase. I have done many 30 and 90 day challenges. They can be very effective but can also be devastating as well. He is doing pretty much the same thing I have been doing. He is more high profile than I am at this point. So I welcome this challenge.

I have my own challenge issues but I have some suggestions for others too if they wish. I work evenings so my schedule is built around that. My areas of focus are Spiritual, Emotional (during periods of solitude), Physical, Financial and Relationships and also Recreational.

My work schedule is from 4pm until 10pm or 12am. I am off on Sundays. My day’s schedule begins after work. Let’s say I get home at 12am.

Monday - Friday

12am - Success Creation Hour (Power Hour or Planning Hour) for the following day. I believe in advance planning and not waiting for the morning to arrive. I am not an early riser.

12:45am Closing prayer

1am - I finally get to sleep and can’t wait until the next day begins.

9am – Morning Prayer, Gratitude and Acknowledgement session

9:15am Success Creation Hour (Power Hour or Planning Hour)

10am – Gym Workout Hour

11am – 3pm CEO of Cash Flow Hustles Entrepreneurial Empire Hours

4pm - It’s off to work I go

Saturdays

12am Success Creation Hour (Power Hour or Planning Hour)

1am - I might get to sleep I might not. This is still Friday night.

9am – Morning Prayer, Gratitude and Acknowledgement session

9:15am Success Creation Hour (Power Hour or Planning Hour)

10am – Driving customers (another business I work) or Music customers (another business I work) or offline local promotions for my CFH Entrepreneurial Empire. I also may be out of town on a business trip for my CFH Empire. (Please excuse me if I sound elitist or condescending but this is part of my dream.)

Sundays

I'm supposed to be off on Sundays but that depends on whether I am needed or not.

This is my Radio Show recording day and semi-relaxing day with family, friends, associates, companions and the like. This is also a day for more spiritual activities and introspection.

Well, this is a rough draft of my schedule. It is flexible but is a guide and not strictly enforced.

The Challenge

Today is Day 18 of The Challenge so far. The exercise routine has not kicked in yet. What am I waiting on? Motivation of course and circumstances. Both of these I can create myself.

What's up everybody! It's Kev The Cash Flow DJ comin back at ya! Hey I am back from hiatus but we are ready to roll here guys. Much thanks goes out to Dennis Karganilla for his 90 Day Challenge. Those challenges are highly motivational for me and I am game for a challenge.

The site will be going through some much needed decorative changes in the next few days. We will be changing our look for the third time. We are always open to growth and improvement though so it's all good. i will be importing some of my old articles and releasing some new stuff too.

I just wanted to give a proper introduction of our CFH world here. The following is part of a business summary I did for some in interested investors in our business here. It does break down a little bit of what we do here. So I decided to use some of it as a lil intro of sorts to visitors here. So here it goes.

Cash Flow Hustles is the headquarters of a small business empire. Our focus is to provide assistance and training to small business owners while also providing some entertainment and enlightenment. Our goal is to provide a means of economic empowerment to the average individual. We have a minority or urban theme but our services are not limited to any single group.

The CFH Empire includes the following:

The CFH Radio Show is an Internet radio show or podcast. We discuss small business and entrepreneurial topics in a talk radio format with listeners calling in. We also conduct interviews with guests on entrepreneurial topics. We also discuss entertainment topics and interviews with a specific focus on music.

We speak on a few other entertainment topics like film or books along with some occasional social issues that are affected by poverty and economic empowerment. The Cash Flow DJ (my branding business personality) is the host of the show. We also feature DJ and deep house music mastermixes as an entertainment part of the show.

One of our business philosophies is to combine a hobby or passion of yours with your entrepreneurial pursuits if at all possible. This is why DJ mixes and musical entertainment are prominent features of this business. This is also a form of branding that stands us apart from other businesses of this type.

In addition to this talk show format we also advertise and promote our other business ventures. We also provide entrepreneurial news, updates and training for our students and clients.

Cash Flow Hustles Excursions- These are monthly trips to different cities that include an entrepreneurial training seminar called CFH Business Starters. These trips are intended to combine business, travel and entertainment together. The seminars will mainly feature outside vendors like Site Build It or SBI training and Mentors In Motion or MIM training and also some higher ticket travel businesses.

It is suggested that those participating in these excursions prepare in advance for the trip to the designated city by setting up deals for their businesses in that city in advance if at all possible. High ticket items of $500 or more are also suggested. Seminar attendants are welcome to market their own products like real estate, stock investments, commodities, forex trading, mortgages, insurance or other higher ticket items during the trip.

It is suggested that they schedule their appointments accordingly in order to be able to enjoy the fun and training provided on the trip. Their deals and offers would have to be reviewed in advance if they want them included on the CFH Excursions CFH Business Starters seminar program for that particular trip. We are open to opportunities if we feel they may be a good fit for our people.

Participants can either market our products on this trip or a product or service of their own choosing and just enjoy the training and the fun. The parties are complimentary for seminar attendants. We sell advance tickets to the seminar and offer commissions if they sell seminar tickets to other people. These are business events and are therefore tax deductible. We suggest you consult your accountant to properly benefit from any tax advantages.

Deep Soul Paradise- These are the social mixers featured as part of the CFH Excursions. They are basically dance parties held in each city we visit after the seminars are concluded in that city.

Underground Soul Fest- This is like a dance party/concert held either quarterly or bi-annually. These are at different locations nationally and globally. They are also part of the CFH Excursions.

Cash Flow Capital- An opportunity to raise capital for any legal business or non-profit organization.

Franchise Business Builders- Set up your own franchise selling any legal product or service of your choosing.

Cash Flow Financing- Finance any product purchase of $500 or more. This would include electronics, auto or real estate.

Cash Flow Credit Builders- Credit repair services and low credit financing. This is actually a department within Cash Flow Financing.

What's up, what's up? Hey It's Kev here at the new improved CFH headquarters. This will be the new home for the time being. We are revamping with a new look and whatnot.

Anyhoo let's get poppin on our main goal-generating some cash and having fun and gettin a lil silly here and there. Kev is short for Kevin Jackson. I'm your host here and your tour guide. I am combining my hobby and passion together by getting paid doing what I love to do for free anyway. I suggest you guys do the same. It's what I call FYP. This means Follow Your Passion.
